Eating: Foster still loves eating. Right before his first birthday he had meat (turkey) for the first time. He loves it. Sweet potatoes are his favorite thing to eat. We planned on having them for his birthday dinner. He saw that we bought them and then for the next couple days he kept going to the cabinet where we keep them and trying to eat them. He smiled so big and laughed when we finally gave them to him for his dinner. It was the best part of his birthday!
Sleeping: Foster is still taking two naps a day. Sometimes he fights taking a nap, but he always takes them. He was waking up at 5AM pretty much all month. He would sometimes go back to sleep after I nursed him, but sometimes not. The day after his birthday he slept until 7:00! I freaked out at 6:30 when I woke up and had to go check on him! We have started to cut down his morning nap - not letting him sleep longer than an hour, because it was effecting his afternoon nap, which effected his bedtime.
He Loves: sweet potatoes, bike rides, playing hide and seek, his daddy, pushing his walker, being outside, reading book by himself
He Doesn't Like: avocados and peanut butter - two of my favorite foods
New Skills: playing peek-a-boo, walking with his push toy (he took a couple steps one day and the next day he was running across the room with it!), a bunch of teeth came through this month
Exciting Things We Did:
Ty made his first batch of kombucha, and it was delicious!
Ty and Papa took the kids to visit some cow farms.
On March 16th we were placed in 8 weeks of quarantine due to COVID-19. I wish that I have been better at keeping a journal during this unprecedented historical time, but I haven't. Everything changes so quickly and my mind has been processing and researching nearly non-stop.
Ty made his first turkey.
We social distanced ourselves and took a hike through the woods.
My happy place - outside, a baby on my back, and a Cake and Cup coffee in hand. |
We celebrated Foster's first birthday! Unfortunately, due to the virus, we couldn't have an actual party. It makes me sad to not be able to celebrate in person, but we were able to still sing to him and watch him eat his cake together, thanks to technology.
We took our first family bike ride! Foster loved it! Jed was a great big brother and held him and kissed him the whole time. <3

Notes:
Charlie: "I love you, Frosty, so much."
Lydia: "I love playing blocks with you. I love to make you giggle."
Jed: "I like to tickle him."
Mommy: Foster, you bring me so much joy! Your easy-going attitude and scrunchy nose smiles are the best. Your joy for the simple things are contagious, never lose that. You should really work on loving avocados and peanut butter though, your missing so much ;-) You are the best and I love you so much <3
